About Me

I’m Yasamin, the founder of Newcastle Tuition Company. I’m a full time STEM tutor working with students from primary school through to A-level. I have a passion for helping students reach their academic goals and believe every student learns differently. This is why I tailor every lesson to meet their individual needs and learning style, because learning is best when it’s fun and engaging!

My goal is to help learners build confidence, really understand the subject, and excel in exams whether it’s to secure a pass, achieve top grades or prepare for competitive fields such as medicine and dentistry.

My Story

I have a Masters degree in Chemistry, and my love for teaching stemmed from seeing how many capable students weren’t achieving their target grades, feeling disheartened and lacking confidence as a result of this. I realised what a huge difference it makes when concepts are broken down and explained in a way that suits the student. Having someone 1:1 or in a small group who can answer questions, with the time to tailor the explanation to students makes a world of difference. Seeing these results year on year is what I love so much about what I do - watching students grow in confidence and their results reflect that is the best feeling in the world!

How I approach lessons:

Learning isn’t just about listening to facts. It’s about truly understanding the subject and being able to apply the knowledge to unexpected questions in an exam. I focus on fully preparing students for their exams, rather than just telling them what they should know. Students deserve to be curious, and to have their questions answered.

I ensure students really understand the content and not just memorise it.
I emphasise applying knowledge to exam-style questions to ensure they feel confident and prepared.
I help students develop effective exam technique and time management strategies, so they can perform under pressure.
I reinforce learning with structured homework between sessions, ensuring concepts are consolidated.
